I have come to love the MEETUP.COM venue. Ever been there? If not, take a moment to check out the site. You can find a meetup group for everything under the sun - or just about.I found Meetup in the summer of 2007 when I had gone independent -- and was working solo from home. I found myself needing to connect with people. See, I am single and live with my three cats. So the days could get very long and I felt deprived of physical interactions with others. So, I decided to look for a walking partner and went to Google to search ... what I found was a universe of options. Within a week I joined several groups and was going to dinner and walking and hiking. YES -- it WAS a little strange at the onset but now it feels like 'perfect'.
